Collection Dates: 1927 – 1987
Scope and Content Note: The collection consists of 14 Bankers boxes of audiocasssettes containing over 3100 radio programs taped off-air. Programs include: That Was the Week That Was; Frontier Gentleman; G.I. Journal; The Cavalcade of America; Studio One; Lum and Abner, etc.
Biographical Note: Art Chimes is a journalist at the Voice of America, with more than 30 years at the U.S. international broadcasting service. From 2004 to 2010, he was the producer and host of Our World, a weekly radio program on science, technology, health, and the environment. He holds degrees from New York University (BA) and the University of Georgia (JD).
Extent: 18 sound cassettes : analog;3145 open reel cassettes : analog ; 1/4 in.;8 sound cartridges : analog, 7 1/2 ips.
