Scope and Content Note: Includes recordings and components of Southbound, Hamper, Uncle Dave, TMX, Raw Mash, Sometimes its Gonna Hurt, and Merry Go Round.
Biographical Note:

Blaine Dunlap (b. 1953), studied documentary filmmaking with Stephen Schmidt at Southern Methodist University. After attending the Sinking Creek Film Celebration in Nashville in 1974, Dunlap moved to Tennessee. He and Sol Korine recorded the Fiddlers' Jamboree in 1975, the finished program Showdown at the Hoedown aired on PBS in 1977.

In 1976, Dunlap and Broadside TV produced Symphony No. 5 and Sol Korine, along with the Tennesee Folklore Society, received an NEA gran to produce documentaries about Uncle Dave Macon and Hamper McBee. The film Hamper McBee: Raw Mash aired on PBS in 1978. In 1981, Southbound, a ten part anthology of southern folk music was released.
