The Underground sound collection was donated by Robbie Collins who ran Underground Sound Recording Studio and recorded Athens, Georgia bands. Included in his donation are recordings of: R.E.M., Love Tractor, Vic Varney, and Go Van Go. The recordings are from 1987-1992 on 1/2" and 1/4" open reel.

The Rayburn Moore collection consists of footage related to the Moore family. Also included are two reels of film showing touring performances of KFFA Radio's "King Biscuit Time," and one reel showing a walking tour around Ralston Purina's Research Farm outside of St. Louis, Missouri. One of the King Biscuit Time reels is a circa 1943 country store performance by blues artists Sonny Boy Williamson and Robert Junior Lockwood. The second King Biscuit Time reel is a 1952 bus performing tour of various Arkansas locations by Sonny Boy Williamson and other African-American performers.

The collection consists of videotapes and silent film from the 1970 music television show Now Explosion. Sixteen-millimeter film productions in the collection which were made by Whitney and his staff to go with songs aired include the following titles: American Woman, Leavin' on a Jet Plane, and Tears of a Clown, plus many others.

The collection consists of film and video of the University of Georgia's Redcoat Band. The footage was taken from 1976-1983 and features many halftime shows from those years.

The collection consists of hundreds of hours of footage from Parade of Quartets, a gospel program aired on WJBF-TV in Augusta, Georgia. This collection documents decades of regional gospel music performances, religious practices, and political activities, and represents possibly the largest collection of gospel performance footage at any North American library. The collection is a rare example of a sustained African American media presence on a southern television affiliate.
