The collection consists of a taped oral interview with Major General Gilbert Xavier Cheves by Robert Scott Davis, Jr., November 8, 1984. The interviews include anecdotes and brief personal remembrances of Sylvanious Morris, dean of the University of Georgia Law School, and of such World War II personalities as Adna R. Chaffee, Ibn Saud, George S. Patton, Claire L. Chennault, Joseph W. Stilwell, Chaing Kai-shek, Dwight David Eisenhower, Grant Taylor, and others. A particularly interesting account of the Patton slapping incident is included.

In 2001, Lisa Friedman York met W.W. Law and was inspired to create a documentary about his life. This collection comprises recorded interviews with Mr. Law and other Savannah area leaders, conducted by historian Cliff Kuhn, recorded for that purpose. The documentary has not been completed.
