Who do you think you are? (Television program : United States). [No. 103, 2010-03-19], Lisa Kudrow
Summary: "Based on the award-winning UK documentary series currently in its 7th season, 'Who Do You Think You Are'' premiered for American audiences on NBC in March of 2010 to strong ratings and critical acclaim. The show's unique format allows television viewers an intimate look at today's most-beloved and iconic celebrities as each embarks on a journey of self-discovery to unearth their family trees. Each episode plays out like a treasure hunt: an investigation of a mystery which reveals surprising, emotional, inspiring and sometimes tragic stories often linked to momentous events in American and international history.

"Season One of the series featured Sarah Jessica Parker, Lisa Kudrow, Emmitt Smith, Matthew Broderick, Susan Sarandon, Brooke Shields and Spike Lee. Each unique film took a vastly different journey that was not only a personal look into the ancestry of a beloved celebrity, but also an emotionally insightful history lesson that put the personal story in its proper historical context. Sarah Jessica Parker discovered her link to such iconic American milestones as the Salem Witch Trials and the Mayflower. Brooke Shields found her ties to Italian aristocracy and French royalty. And Spike Lee came face to face with the details of the Civil War and his slave roots, as well as a shocking connection to an ancestor of his family's slave-owner.

"Among the most powerful episodes of the season was Lisa Kudrow's journey to discover not only the painful details of her great grandmother's demise, but also her reunion with a long-lost relative who for years, was believed to be dead. The episode illustrated a most personal and specific Holocaust story that allowed us to walk in the shoes of one of the victims of the war. At the same time, it gave us the privilege of accompanying a [renowned] and well respected film and television actress on an experience that was both intimate and emotional.

"'Who Do You Think You Are'' celebrates the twists and turns of a great nation and the people who made their way here in search of freedom and opportunity. The show continues to reveal the fabric of humanity through everyone's place in history -- illustrating just how connected everyone is not only to the past, but to one another."--2010 Peabody Awards entry form.

This is episode 103, Lisa Kudrow, as described above.
