Collection Dates: 1991 – 2014
Scope and Content Note: Three audiovisual recordings related to the University of Georgia and UGA Football.
Biographical Note: Loran Smith is a 1962 graduate of the University of Georgia where he captained the 1960 Bulldog track team and was named MVP his senior year. He created Georgia's pre-game Tailgate Show and the Head Coach's locker room show. Smith is the author of numerous books and his Banner-Herald column runs in more than 20 papers throughout the state. Smith's syndicated weekly radio show, "Sports Conversations," is heard on approximately 50 stations in Georgia. A past chairman of the State of Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Smith was elected to the Georgia Sports hall of Fame in 1997. UGA Alumni Association.
