Scope and Content Note: Robert Saveland oral history.

Biographical Note: Robert Nelson Saveland was born in 1921 in East Cleveland, OH. He served in the US Naval Reserve during WWII participating in the Normandy landing at Omaha Beach. After the war, Dr. Saveland became a geography teacher in Kirkwood, Missouri. He joined the faculty of University of Georgia College of Education in 1968 teaching social science education until his retirement in 1985.
