The collection consists of hundreds of hours of Arnold Michaelis' audio, film, and video interviews with the world's leading political and cultural personalities recorded since 1958. Martin Luther King, Jr., Adlai Stevenson, Dean Rusk, Ronald Reagan, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Indira Gandhi are just a few of the men and women interviewed by Mr. Michaelis in their own homes. Arnold Michaelis sought "to record for today and posterity, the flavor of the thinking and the essence of the ideas of the men and women whose lives will be studied by future generations." The bulk of the collection is made up of films, television programs, and radio programs that Michaelis produced, and elements used in those productions. The majority of the audiotapes in the collection consist of interviews, edited and unedited, with celebrities and political figures.

The collection consists of 12 reels of film that once formed Moore's personal collection of kinescopes from various programs he had a part in over the years. These reels provide insight into what Garry Moore deemed important or amusing and worth keeping in his personal collection. The collection includes the Edward R. Murrow "Person to Person" interview at the Moore home in February 1955. Also included are clips from I've Got a Secret, the Gary Moore Show, Garry's Gags, and a home movie of a cruise to Virgin Islands.

The collection consists of tapes of the Pam & Buffy Show, a children's program that aired on Atlanta cable television from 1993-2001. Topics covered include living drug-free, recycling, etiquette, self-esteem, holidays, and personal hygiene.

The Telenews Collection consists of approximately 720 reels of 16mm black and white newsfilm dating from c. 1961 to c. 1964, the bulk of which is from 1962. Representative stories concern the space program, the Cold War, the Kennedys, Dean Rusk, Congressional hearings, De Gaulle, Vietnam, and Telstar. These clips are currently untransferred but can be made available for viewing upon request.

The collection consists of 50 years of radio, television and film productions, papers, and photographs documenting the founding and growth of Protestant Radio and Television Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Consists of over 1,600 film canisters containing multiple reels of raw news footage from WALB-TV Channel 10 in Albany, Georgia. Footage includes Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Albany Movement in 1961-62, as well as demonstrations surrounding his appearances and arrest there. Politicians appearing include Jimmy Carter, Sam Nunn, Herman Talmadge, Lester Maddox, Carl Sanders, George Wallace, Richard Russell, and Richard Nixon. Footage also contains Vietnam-era events in the region, local 1976 Bicentennial events coverage, coverage of the Georgia State Legislature, and many local topics such as agricultural issues, city commission meetings and human interest stories. No finished broadcast programs are included.

The collection consists of videotapes and silent film from the 1970 music television show Now Explosion. Sixteen-millimeter film productions in the collection which were made by Whitney and his staff to go with songs aired include the following titles: American Woman, Leavin' on a Jet Plane, and Tears of a Clown, plus many others.

This collection is made up of several different groups of film and videotape which have come to the Media Archives since 1995. As with many collections, not everything produced by the Georgia Center is in the Media Archives, but we hold a broad representation of their material. The Georgia Center and the UGA Art Department at one time maintained a storage building where a once-circulating collection of educational and industrial films were stored. Those films eventually came to the Libraries' Media Archives and have been called the Georgia Center Film Collection. When the Media Archives was established in 1995, those films were brought here. Some of the films date back to the 1930s, though it is likely that these are later reprinted copies of earlier-produced films. The earliest known 2" videotape of a Georgia Center production that we hold was donated to us by Patrick Shields, "A Day with Jimmie Driftwood" which we believe dates to the early 1960s. In 2004, we received the bulk of the Georgia Center's taped programs consisting of tapes of educational programs on campus, continuing education programs, and original productions. A broad range of subjects is covered, including famous Georgians (Dean Rusk, Lamar Dodd, et al.), educational materials, and significant events at the University, among many others.

The collection consists of hundreds of hours of footage from Parade of Quartets, a gospel program aired on WJBF-TV in Augusta, Georgia. This collection documents decades of regional gospel music performances, religious practices, and political activities, and represents possibly the largest collection of gospel performance footage at any North American library. The collection is a rare example of a sustained African American media presence on a southern television affiliate.

The collection consists of newsfilm clips from WRDW-TV in Augusta, Georgia. The clips date from 1961-1968, with additional footage from 1974 and 1976. Included is footage of Fort Gordon, Carl Sanders, Lyndon B. Johnson, Herman Talmadge, and several beauty pageants (including Miss America) and contestants.

The Ray Moore Film Collection consists of interviews with Ty Cobb, Dr. Martin Luther King, Bobby Jones, Senator John McClellan and Robert Frost, documentaries I Walked Today and Center of Creation, an Olympic marketing video made for the IOC meeting in Puerto Rico, broadcast segments, and more.
